Applying at The Mount

Choosing a high school is about more than academics. It is about finding a place that will shape how a student thinks, leads, and grows over the next four years. At Mount St. Mary, students are challenged in the classroom, supported by a close-knit community, and encouraged to develop a strong sense of purpose rooted in faith.

The application process is designed to be thoughtful and personal. From the first visit to final enrollment, families have the opportunity to experience the culture, expectations, and opportunities that define life at The Mount. We understand that every student brings different strengths, interests, and goals, and our admissions team is committed to guiding each family through the process with clarity and care.

Admission Policy

Basic Information:

  • Mount St. Mary Catholic High School will consider for admission any young person with adequate elementary school preparation regardless of race, creed, social status, or cultural background.

  • A student will not be denied admission to the school because of a handicap unless this handicap seriously impairs the student’s ability to successfully complete the school’s academic program or unless the school cannot provide sufficient physical or educational care for the individual.

  • Mount St. Mary retains the right to set local admission standards and policies.

Student’s Records and Recommendations:

  • A prospective student’s transcript, test scores, and records concerning behavior and attendance are all considered in determining a prospective student’s eligibility to be accepted and enroll.

  • All students and parents/guardians must complete questionnaires regarding the student’s interests, attitudes, strengths, and challenges.

  • Current teacher, administrator, and/or school counselor recommendations are also required for admission.

  • Sign up to take a high school placement test onsite at MSM. Many schools, including all of the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City, already use NWEA MAP testing. If an 8th grader is enrolled in a school that provides MAP testing, they do not have to schedule a testing session with our school.

Visiting the Campus:

  • A visit/tour of the school by prospective parents and students is an optional part of the enrollment process and may be accomplished through a guided tour, a shadow visit, participating in a Day at The Mount, or attending MSM Open House.

Acceptance:

Based on the information provided, a student may be:

     1. Accepted unconditionally
     2. Accepted under conditions with defined expectations, limitations, and consequences
     3. Accepted, either conditionally or unconditionally, but placed on a waiting list
     4. Denied admission

A student becomes an eligible candidate for enrollment only after he/she has submitted an application for admission, except in the case of those who are placed on a waiting list who become eligible to enroll when a place opens for them.
