Quick information about MSM Cheer:
-All current MSM students and incoming freshman are eligible to tryout for cheerleading in the Spring of each year!
-Freshman are eligible to make the JV or Varsity squad.
-The JV squad cheers at all JV home football and home basketball games.
-The Varsity squad cheers at all home and away football and basketball games. The Varsity squad also competes at the OSSAA State Cheerleading Competition each Fall.
-Both the JV and Varsity squads tryout in April, attend summer skills camp and practice throughout the summer. The state team has a more demanding summer practice schedule than the JV.
-Students are able to participate in cheerleading and participate in other sports as well. We have many girls that participate in cheer, volleyball, softball, basketball and so forth. We do a great job of making schedules work so that girls are able to participate in multiple sports!
-Cheerleading is a Fall semester class.
-All cheerleaders take a once a week required tumbling class together at a local cheerleading gym.
