The MSM FIRST Robotics Competition team, Team Rocket, traveled to Detroit last week for the World Championship with over 43,000 participants and came home with the Judges Award for their service and large positive impact in the community of Oklahoma City. Very few teams from Oklahoma make it to the championship each year, and it is rare of anyone to win an award, so it is very special to be recognized at the World Championships!

The judges said: "This team takes what limited human resources they have and creates a massive impact that is out of this world. By running almost a dozen FIRST events, assisting many teams, and engaging one on one with kids in many thousands of interactions just in the last year this team rocketed into the judges hearts. Congratulations to team number 2723, Team Rocket, from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma!"

Team Rocket's robot performed well against the best teams in the world and ended with a record of 4-5-1 in match play. They had the chance to meet with professionals from the likes of NASA and Ford Motor Company, visit with dozens of college representatives including Yale and MIT, and meet students from dozens of countries around the world.
