Each year the Mount St. Mary Catholic High school counseling office nominates a rising Rocket senior for the National Student Leadership Conference. For 2018, MSM senior Sophia Shepard was chosen by the conference to represent The Mount at the NSLC.
"Sophia was nominated by the counseling office for her interest in psychology and for her strong academics. Sophia is a great ambassador for MSM and has an extremely bright future in front of her," said MSM Counselor, Mallory Tecmire.
The National Student Leadership Conference is a pre-college program where students live on a college campus for a week, attend leadership training, hear exclusive guest speakers and experience hands-on simulations.
Sophia spent a week and a half at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. While at Vanderbilt she lived in the campus dorms and attended college psychology classes.
"I met a lot of really good people over my week and a half participating in the NSLC program. It was great to connect with others from around the country who have the same career interests as me. I enjoyed getting to learn about the college experience at such a prestigious university," said MSM senior, Sophia Shepard.
Congratulations to Sophia Shepard on being selected for this exclusive experience!
