Posted 03/06/2018 03:51PM

Team Rocket went to the 61-team Dallas FIRST Robotics Competition Regional at Irving Convention Center last weekend to get some experience against some of the top teams in the world, and made it all the way to the finals!

Our alliance partners in the playoffs were the RoboChargers (Emmett J Conrad HS, Dallas) and All Sparks (Jesuit High School, Dallas), who are both really great teams. In the finals, Team Rocket lost to the powerhouse alliance of former world champions the Robonauts (NASA / Johnson Space Center, League City, TX), RoboWranglers (Greenville, TX), and TexPlosion (Manor, TX).

The FRC game this year is called Power Up, where two teams of three robots each battle for control of a basketball court sized game arena (the game is explained in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZbdwYiCY74).

FRC events are broadcast world-wide on Twitch, and Team Rocket's matches can be re-watched here:
