Rocket Boosters By-Laws
This organization shall be known as the “Rocket Boosters”
MISSION STATEMENT AND OBJECTIVES
Mission Statement: Mount St. Mary Booster Club, “Rocket Boosters”, is committed to serving our students and their families with mercy, compassion and giving them an exceptional Christ-centered Catholic experience in extra-curricular activities.

ORGANIZATION
The Booster Club (Rocket Boosters) shall be composed of individual members interested in
supporting Mount St. Mary and the Mount St. Mary Athletic Department. This organization is to partner with Mount St. Mary. The by-laws of the Rocket Boosters shall be consistent with the Mission Statement of Mount St. Mary and Mission Statement of Rocket Boosters. Effective Fall 2023, this organization is a 501c3 operating under the umbrella of Mount St. Mary Catholic High School.
Leadership Team
The Leadership Team is made up of 5 members. These members commit to a 1 Year Term except for the Executive Director role. The current Mount St. Mary Athletic Director will serve as the Executive Director for the MSM Booster Club.

Election of Leadership Team Officers
Year 1 the Leadership Team will be appointed by the Executive Director.
Outgoing Leadership Team Members can nominate Team Representatives to take their role. To be nominated for a Leadership position, you must first become a Team Representative. The nominated must be active in Booster Club initiatives. Officers may not hold the same Position for more than 2 Terms (2 Years). The Leadership Officers shall be elected by a majority vote of the members present (those present representing a quorum). When necessary, voting can also be done via email to all members. Majority must be received by those submitting votes. All new Leadership Officers shall take office in July.
Duties of the Leadership Team
President
The President shall preside at all meetings for the Rocket Boosters, shall designate all
ad hoc committees, shall appoint members to ad hoc committees, and perform
such duties as are required by the office. The President shall work closely with the Executive Director, and School Administration to provide our Student Athletes with the best possible experience at Mount St. Mary Catholic High School.
Vice-President
The Vice-President shall act as aid to the President, shall perform the duties of
the President in the absence or disability of that Officer to act. The position shall
also oversee the general operations of the booster club. The Vice President shall maintain a database on all members including contact info, coordinate volunteers for all programming activities, games and events.
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall collect all money and shall disburse the same. Funds
of the Rocket Boosters shall be on deposit in the name of Rocket Boosters. The Treasurer shall produce the bank statements for review by the Officers. The Treasurer shall provide the annual report (July 1st to June 30th) with the Rocket Boosters Leadership Team by September 1st annually.
Secretary
The Secretary shall take and maintain written minutes of each Rocket Boosters
meeting, shall be required to conduct correspondence and issue notices, shall report
minutes of each Rocket Boosters meeting to the members, and perform such other
duties as required by the office. The secretary shall also be responsible for the communication needs of the Rocket Boosters via email or social media.
Vacancies
A vacancy in any office shall be filled by appointment of an active member that is currently a Team Representative. This appointment is to be made by the Executive Director and ratified by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Rocket Boosters members present at the next regularly scheduled
meeting. A vacancy will exist when an Officer misses three (3) consecutively scheduled Rocket Boosters meetings without good cause, or when an officer resigns. The Vice-President will automatically succeed to the office of President should a vacancy exist in the President’s office.
Booster Club Meetings
Meetings will be held monthly year around, generally on the 2nd Wednesday of the Month. All members of the Rocket Boosters are encouraged to attend. There will be six General Rocket Boosters Meetings (July, September, November, January, March, & May). It is a requirement for our Members to attend four of these six meetings.
Membership & Election Meeting: This meeting will be held in March of each year. At this meeting, the general election of new members of the Leadership Team will be held.

Membership
It is the goal of Rocket Boosters to have 100% of all of its families to be involved. There is a $200 fee to be involved in the booster club that is waived if a parent serves on the Leadership Team. The other qualifiers are the following: Having a current athlete involved in one of our extra curricular programs, being an Alumni, or having a son or daughter that is an alumni.
Defining Active Members/Membership
These are criteria to be considered active. Any person or parent that pays their dues to the booster club, and attends a minimum of four of the scheduled six Rocket Boosters Meetings. Persons must be actively involved in Rocket Boosters initiatives.

Team Representatives
Each Team or Activity that would like to participate, and or benefit from the Mount St. Mary Rocket Boosters will be required to have a Team Representative. This person is required to attend Rocket Boosters Meetings, and is liaison for their team or activity. The Team Representative would be considered the lead booster club parent for their respected sport. The only requirement for the Team Representative position is that you must have a son or daughter involved in that particular sport or activity you are representing.
Fundraising
All fundraising activities of any athletic team or activity shall be approved by
the Rocket Boosters Leadership Team.
Purchasing
Any purchase that exceeds $999 (nine hundred & ninety-nine dollars) will need to be approved by the Leadership Team prior to orders being made. Any purchase less than $999 (nine hundred & ninety-nine dollars) will need to obtain a “Department Head” signature and an “Administrator's Signature”. Any one member of the Leadership Team will and can sign as the ‘Department Head’. The “Administrator’s Signature” will come from one of the two Mount St. Mary Athletic Directors. Effective September 1, 2023
Amendments
Any changes to the BY-LAWS must be presented in writing by the Executive Director and amended by a two-thirds (2/3) vote of eligible members present at any regular or special meeting, provided such notice of amendment is presented to the Leadership Team thirty (30) days prior to such meeting. The Leadership Team of the Rocket Boosters of Mount St. Mary Catholic High School also holds the right to make amendments to the Rocket Boosters by-laws without a vote of the members.
