Meet Our President
Dear Mount St. Mary Catholic High School Community,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Deacon John C. Harned as President of Mount St. Mary Catholic High School. Deacon Harned will begin his role on June 1, 2023.
With a distinguished professional career and deep commitment to Catholic education, Deacon Harned brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our beloved community. Deacon Harned is a certified public accountant and holds a master's degree in accounting from Oklahoma State University. His understanding of organizational dynamics and fiscal responsibility will contribute greatly to the continued success of our institution.
In addition to his business acumen, Deacon Harned holds a master's degree in theological studies from Ave Maria University, reflecting his dedication to fostering a faith-filled and spiritually enriching environment for our students, faculty, and staff. His theological background will further strengthen our school's commitment to Catholic teachings and values.
Deacon Harned’s leadership extends beyond the academic realm. He brings a proven track record of executive leadership in both profit and non-profit sectors, showcasing his ability to guide organizations toward their goals while cultivating a collaborative and inclusive culture. This experience will be invaluable as we work together to nurture a dynamic and supportive educational community.
We are honored to have Deacon Harned as an ordained Roman Catholic Permanent Deacon. His service to the Church underscores his devotion to our faith and reinforces his understanding of the spiritual needs of our community. He is a strong advocate for Catholic education and has previously served on the board of Cristo Rey Catholic High School and Good Shepherd Catholic School.
As the new President, Deacon Harned is committed to building upon the strong foundation established at Mount St. Mary Catholic High School. He will work closely with Principal Laura Cain and our dedicated faculty and staff to ensure the delivery of an exceptional Catholic education that prepares our students for college and a lifelong journey of faith. We are confident that he will continue to build upon the school's strong tradition of academic excellence and Catholic values, sharing the vision of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and mission of the Sisters of Mercy.
As the school underwent a thorough search to fill this role, our school was privileged to have Tony Tyler serve as interim President. We are forever grateful for the service and leadership that Mr. Tyler dedicated to Mount St. Mary over the past year.
Please join me in welcoming Deacon John C. Harned, and his wife Ricki, to our Mount St. Mary Catholic High School family. We are confident that his leadership, vision, and dedication will inspire our community and propel us toward a future filled with academic excellence and spiritual growth.
Go Rockets!
