Welcome from the Student Council President

Dear Rocket Family,

I cannot express how much it means to be a Rocket and to represent MSM as this year’s student body president. Whether I am walking through the halls, playing on the court, or cheering on fellow students, I am always filled with pride that I chose to attend the best high school in Oklahoma City.

MSM is the oldest high school in Oklahoma, which has allowed us to steadily grow strong, deeply rooting ourselves in tradition and faith. This is manifested every day in the way our faculty and staff interact with us. They are always nearby to foster a passion for an academic subject, to develop an appreciation for an artistic achievement, or to nurture a budding confidence in our individual talents and abilities, giving us confidence to affect our world in a positive way. We can win state championships in softball, cheerleading, and soccer. We can become National Merit Scholars. We can see opportunity when others see obstacles. We can immerse ourselves in studies abroad in Argentina. We can enjoy a cold root beer at Coit’s. We can support each other through loss and failure. We can show fortitude in the face of life’s adversities.

In short, we make every day a GREAT ROCKET DAY. This is a process where each of us learns that no matter how mundane, how sad, how exhilarating, or how extraordinary a particular day at The Mount might be, we are going to make it meaningful by mentoring a fellow student in need, accepting a helping hand when necessary, and wearing a smile every day that celebrates the fact that we exist! It is this process of finding beauty and meaning in every day that is the reward of The Mount experience, making every Rocket Day as unique and special as each one of its students. This is The Mount. This is my home and my family. We are Rockets, headed for new worlds and possibilities, fueled by tradition and faith and the hope for a better tomorrow.
